20188 & 20009 with 50037 at Bristol Bath Road for refuelling. Class 20's were extremly rare in Bristol in the 80's and this is the only time I saw a pair here. They had come down from the north on a summer Saturday passenger special when I guess anything that could turn a wheel was sent out on the extra trains. Once refuelled they were quickly sent north on the next passenger train to come in. Caught them to Bristol Parkway for bit of different haulage. Class 20's in Bristol are now quite common with the Bridgewater nuclear flask traffic sometimes bringing a loco or two through.. 22-7-78 |
20188 & 20009 coming light of Bath Road in order to replace a Peak on a northbound passenger service. Bristol drivers wouldn't have had the knowledge to drive them and so the Saltley or Gloucester crew would take them back up North. Bristol Temple Meads 22-7-78 |

20307 (ex 20128) on the front with 20302 (ex 20084) getting back onto the main line after a crew change in Bristol Parkway on the 6M67 Bridgewater to Crewe flask train. 3-6-8 |
20307 leads 20314 as they depart Bristol Parkway on the 6M67 nuclear flask train from Bridgewater to Crewe. Unusually, the train was held at the approach to Parkway whilst the PW crew removed the 'Road closed' boards from the middle of both loops. Then the train cautiously crept up to the signal. After a crew change, the train then proceeded. Normally this train storms straight through the station without stopping. In the background can be seen the new platform under construction. 2-3-7 |

20904 on the rear on a special weedkilling train at Hullavington 21-8-92 |
20904, with 20901 at the other end, waits to leave the sidings at Westerleigh during a trip to rid all the tracks of weeds. The siding to the right of the loco is for the bin train terminal and is today 'out of use' with some of the trackwork lifted. 15-4-92 |
