40044 at Bristol Temple Meads on the 21:30 sleeper to Edinburgh. Rare to see this class in Bristol except on the occasional late night mail turn. 21-6-80 I had this via email from Mark "I rode the train on that day to Bristol parkway, can still remember waiting all day at Bristol for it to come of the depot and go to Malago carriage sidings for the stock .... also if you look at some of your shots you may notice that the royal headcode was put up, by yours truly, but changed before departure by the driver.we didn't hit more that 30mph up the 1:75 of horfield bank, not bad for 16 coaches...... happy days ps 40155 did the same working either the week before or after....
